Will i still get paid my job seekers allowence while on holiday in uk?

-On sunday i am going away for a week in the uk ( a holiday that was booked before becoming unemployed). I have filled in a holiday form as monday 11th is usually the day i sign on. And i have made an appointment to see my advisor the day after i return home on the 18th. I was wondering though when i will recieve my payment for that fortnight. will i get it a few days after i would have signed on (between 14th-15th july) or will it be after i have seen my advisor when i have returned from my holiday. Its important i know as i need to sort my finances out for the week.i don't know your circumstances but i do feel quite sorry for you being someone who wants to work, but through unforeseen circumstances finds yourself out of work when you were due for a weeks holiday. Not your fault so i hope that they do pay you, as its in arrears you will have any deductions later i would think. Actually you can still apply for jobs via the internet while you are away so you could be actively looking for work.
You can afford a holiday, so no you won't get paid as you're not actively seeking work.



It's apart of your contract, read your contract. They'll stop your claim and restart it.

I had to Sign Off for my mother's wedding - which was only 30 minutes away but I was staying in the hotel over night with them. They classed that as a holiday. Rules are there for a reason, we all have to abide by them; otherwise why should you have your cake and eat it too and I had to suffer because of ONE night while you have an entire week off?
No. you won't receive payment for the days you are on holiday as you won't be considered to be actively jobseeking or available for work on those days. You should get payment for the other week though. As for payment dates - who knows. If there's a chance they can bollocks up your claim then they probably will.
Yes you can go on holiday - you must notify the jobcentre - they accept this as a normal thing and do not expect you to be applying for jobs while on holiday.

Tell them and your benefits continue normally.
